First Trust High Income Strategic Focus ETF (the Fund) is an exchange-traded fund. The investment objective of the Fund is to seek a high level of current income. The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of below investment grade, or junk bonds, and senior loans that are rated below investment grade or unrated. The Fund may also invest up to 20% of its managed assets in securities of foreign issuers, including securities of issuers located in emerging market countries.

The Fund seeks to maintain a portfolio that is diversified across various issuers, industries and other factors. The Fund may invest directly in such securities or synthetically through the use of derivatives. The Fund's portfolio includes various sectors, such as consumer discretionary, energy, financials, healthcare, industrials, information technology, materials, real estate, telecommunications services and utilities. The Fund's investment advisor is First Trust Advisors L.P., a registered investment advisor. The Fund's sub-advisors are Stonebridge Advisors LLC and Babson Capital Management LLC.
